SUMMER IN CHINA 2024
Tsinghua - Oxford Internship
The Internship provides American youths with a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience alongside elite students from Tsinghua University (CN), Tsinghua University High School (CN), and University of Oxford (UK).
From July to August, 30 participants will travel across 2-5* provinces in China and engage in activities such as educational volunteering (teaching in underdeveloped areas), peer exchange sessions, workshops on China’s language and culture, academic seminars in different disciplines, field trips to popular landmarks, networking with leaders from various industries, experiencing college life, homestay at a local family*, and babysitting China’s national treasure - Giant Pandas*!

Teaching & Field Study @ Henan

For two weeks, interns will teach English to middle school students in underdeveloped areas and will provide culture talks and communication exercises. Interns need to prepare teaching plans and materials such as English movies, stories, pictures, etc. or introduce their countries, hometowns, and schools. Each international intern will have one or two Chinese student partners.

Learn about Beijing's rich history at the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall. Stroll through these landmarks symbolizing China's dynamism and discover the intricate architecture and cultural treasures via learning workshops. Discover the ancient engineering marvel of Dujiangyan, built over 2,200 years ago. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this sound irrigation system stands as a testament to enduring engineering brilliance and ancient Chinese ingenuity. Visit cute pandas in their hometown and help take care of them at the Panda Breeding Center. Guided by a professional panda keeper, let’s observe pandas closely, learn about their life stages, prepare food for them and clean their homes. Contribute to the conservation of pandas, capture unforgettable photos and gain an official volunteer certificate.
